Candace Hudson, uptight social worker in Philadelphia, has had her heart smashed by the man she expected to marry. She gets carefree and careless at a convention party and mixes her allergy meds with her wine. The result is a rude awakening starting with her morning wake up call.
Griff, divorced Texas rancher, treats her hangover and her battered ego with humor and affection. He's the single father of a delightful ten-year-old daughter whom he's raising with the emotional support of an extended family. Neither "Candy" nor Griff expect to try another relationship, but his project in Texas requires her expertise. Wanting nothing but the best, he invites her to his ranch to plan a camp for children struggling with their parents' divorces and the aftershock of blended families.
Nothing is predictable in the hands of Ms. Rettstatt. The suspense heats up along with the friendship as trust builds and fear falls away. The author is in complete control of this story. Readers can relax and watch the romance unfolding in surprising yet psychologically believable ways.
P.S. Linda Rettstatt is also the winner of EPIC's best mainsteam book.
